I have been waiting for someone to start a SQL group in Knoxville for several years. I am glad to see that you have started down that path. Please keep me up-to-date and let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

The query you want should be:

SELECT ISNULL(T.lala.value('.', 'varchar(20)'),'found nothing')
FROM @xmlString.nodes('a/product-id') AS T(lala);

The query you want should be:

SELECT ISNULL(T.lala.value(’.', ‘varchar(20)’),’found nothing’)
FROM @xmlString.nodes(’a/product-id’) AS T(lala);

Looks like a good schedule to me. There is a lunch on Tuesday with the MVPs at the normal conference lunch hour, I did an initial post about it on my blog.. Another one with the final topics will be forthcoming.

Also a chapter lunch on Thursday organized by regional areas so you can either see other SQL folks from your area or meet someone from an entirely different area.. Don't know much about that one, but I think Jason Strate or maybe Colin Stasiuk are helping out with it?

I will be suffering the same time zone issues and I am planning on a couple early mornings so I think my nights may end up just being sushi and then sleep aside from the Welcome reception, SQL Server Central gathering and maybe hanging out with some SQL Server Pedia folk.

Cool, I'm honored that you're thinking about attending a couple of my sessions! Lookin' forward to meeting you. I know what you mean about the time zone problems - I'm an early-to-bed, early-to-rise kinda guy, and between that and the time zone changes, PASS kicks my rear.

It was a conscious decision to become a geek, yet like you, the path which led to SQL Server was serendipitous. Good luck with your DW!
